Beach Clean Up Program held in Mamzar Beach

Santhwanam volunteers headed to beach early in the morning

More than 30 volunteers, including children and Santhwanam Volunteers, cleaned up Al Mamzar open beach in Dubai on Friday, collecting litter from the shores.

Volunteers kick started the event by 7 am and continued till 10 am.

Over 20kg of on-shore rubbish was cleared from the beach and were sorted for eventual recycling by the Dubai Municipality.

Importance of beach cleaning:

Our beaches are the bridge between our world and the ocean. Summer weather attracts thousands of visitors to beaches across the world and sometimes visitors bring waste. Beaches are fragile environments. We must be attentive in how we treat these stretches of land.
